Andrés Pino

Lead Electrical Engineer

Born and raised in Orlando, Florida, Andrés’ passion for the water has been a permanent fixture in both his personal life and career, dedicating his free time to pursuing surfing, diving, and exploring the best beaches the world has to offer. This love for the ocean is what led him to pursue a career in underwater robotics.

Since 2008, Andrés has been leading the design and development of an array of systems, specializing in subsea vehicles. Beginning his career with Lockheed Martin, he dedicated over 11 years supporting the Department of Defense as the lead electrical engineer for various projects developing autonomous underwater vehicles, remote operated vehicles, deep-sea passive arrays, and even supported the design of a high energy laser system. The leadership he showcased during his tenure helped him to stand out and earn acceptance into Lockheed’s distinguished Advanced Technical Leadership Program - a program designated for top technical talent to take on and lead stretch assignments throughout the corporation

In 2019, Andrés joined Oceaneering Advanced Technologies and quickly put his expertise to work in the development of a miniature, exploratory, remotely-operated vehicle for the U.S. Navy’s submarine fleet. He was introduced to the Terradepth team in early 2020 and, inspired by the people and the mission, relocated from the mid-Atlantic region for the opportunity to work at the forefront of this still-nascent sphere.

Andrés received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Central Florida and is currently pursuing a Master’s of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University’s Whiting School of Engineering.
